Following the trend of industrialization and globalization the group was born in the year 1994. The group is a result of the collaboration between two renowned families of Kolkata, the Sanganeria's and Kajaria's.

The name sangkaj is also a result of two Bengali words 'sang' meaning together and 'kaj' meaning work. Hence the essence of the entire group is "together we work".

The group foresaw vast potential in the booming automotive industry, logistic services, real estate and made a successful foray in manufacturing and warehousing.

Currently the  group is a premier supplier for automotive industry with full capabilities in design, development and manufacturing along with Warehousing, C & FA and logistic activities.
